SWEET 7 A Sugababes brit lányegyüttes hetedik stúdióalbuma, amelyet 2010. március 15-én adott ki az Island Records. Az album gyártását 2009 áprilisában kezdték ének, így ez az egyetlen Sugababes album, amelyen az eredeti tagok közül senki sem szerepel.
Az album gyártása Buchanan közreműködésével kezdődött, aki a "Get Sexy" című kislemezen szerepelt, amely a második helyen végzett az Egyesült Királyságban. Távozása után az "About a Girl" és a "Wear My Kiss" a nyolcadik, illetve a hetedik helyen végzett. Az album producere Jay-Z Roc Nation szórakoztató cége volt; A Roc Nation házon belüli producereinek bevonása erős elektro és dance-pop hangzást adott az albumnak, köszönhetően az amerikai producerek és írók, főként Fernando Garibay, Stargate és The Smeezingtons munkáinak. A nagy horderejű hozzászólás ellenére a Sweet 7-et negatívan fogadták a kritikusok, a negatív kritikák pedig az azonosítható hang és lélek hiányát kritizálták a projektből, valamint a csoport identitásvesztését Buchanan távozása miatt, sokak szerint ez jelentős visszalépés a korábbi munkáikhoz képest.
A Sweet 7 az Egyesült Királyságban a 14., Írországban pedig a 35. helyen végzett, ezzel a csoport eddigi második legalacsonyabb slágerlistáján elért albuma lett ezekben az országokban. Az album promóciója az utolsó kislemez megjelenése után véget ért, így a csoport elkezdhetett dolgozni egy új albumon, de feloszlottak, miután megjelentették a tervezett kislemezt, a "Freedom"-ot.

HÁTTÉR

Az album létrehozása előtt a Sugababes amerikai lemezszerződést írt alá Jay-Z Roc Nation kiadójával. Az albumot a Sugababes főleg Los Angelesben és New Yorkban rögzítette, néhány londoni üléssel. A csoport elsősorban RedOne-nal, Ryan Tedderrel, a Stargate-tel, Fernando Garibay-vel és a The Smeezingtons-szal dolgozott. Az album egyik dalát, a "No More You"-t Ne-Yo írta. Keisha Buchanan a dalt Rihanna "Hate That I Love You" és "Take a Bow" című dalaihoz hasonlította. Buchanan azt mondta a BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat című műsorában, hogy az album „határozottan megragadta a brit hangulatot az album során – nem mentünk el, és „csupa amerikai” lettünk a rajongóinkra.” Buchanan folytatta: „Úgy gondolom, ez ismét friss energiát adott nekünk. Buchanan azonban tagadta a csoporton belüli drámai eseményeket, és ragaszkodott hozzá, hogy Berrabah "egyelőre" tagja maradjon. Elkezdtek terjedni a pletykák, hogy Jade Ewen, az Egyesült Királyság 2009-es Eurovíziós Dalversenyének résztvevője csatlakozik a csoporthoz, és Berrabah helyére lép. 2009. szeptember 21-én bejelentették, hogy Buchanan kilépett a zenekarból, bár Twitter-fiókján azt nyilatkozta, hogy nem az ő döntése a távozás. Berrabah és tagtársa, Heidi Range később kijelentette, hogy mindketten megpróbáltak kilépni a Sugababes-ből, csak azért, mert rájöttek, hogy a csoport vezetése úgy döntött, hogy követik őket, ahelyett, hogy két új tagot keresnének Buchanannak. Buchanant azonnal Ewen váltotta fel, aki az album megjelenésére készülve azonnal elkezdte felvenni vokálját Buchanan énekhangja mellett. 2009 novemberében további új anyagokat rögzítettek.
Buchanan 2011-ben újra egyesült az eredeti Sugababes felállással, a korábbi tagokkal, Mutya Buenával és Siobhán Donaghyval, de a trió csak 2019-ben nyeri vissza a Sugababes nevet és védjegyet. 2023 márciusában Buchanan kijelentette, hogy soha többé nem fogja előadni a Sweet 7 egyik dalát sem.

KRITIKA

A Sweet 7 rossz kritikákat kapott a zenekritikusoktól. A Metacritic összesítő webhely, amely 100-ból normalizált értékelést ad a mainstream kritikusok kritikáinak, átlagosan 39-es pontszámot adott az albumra hat értékelés alapján, ami "általában kedvezőtlen kritikákat" jelez.
Jon O'Brien, az AllMusic munkatársa, aki 5-ből 2 csillagot adott az albumnak, "nyájas, lélektelen és ismétlődő ügynek" bírálta, ugyanakkor elismerte, hogy "felfedi, hogy [Sugababes] ma már felismerhetetlenek, nemcsak a személyzet, hanem a hangzás és az arculat tekintetében is". Elismerte, hogy bár az album "soha nem hiányzik a fertőző horogból vagy a klubbarát produkcióból", "kétségtelenül elárulja a kísérletező érzékenységet, amely megkülönbözteti őket kortársaiktól." Thomas H Green, a The Daily Telegraph munkatársa 3/5 csillagot adott az albumra, és így dicsérte: "Felkapós, cod-NRG iskolai és jókedvű, és jó-NRG-sajtos, és jó lesz. meleg klubok táncparkettjei."

GET SEXY A Sugababes brit lányegyüttes dala a hetedik stúdióalbumukról, a Sweet 7-ről (2010). Fred Fairbrass, Richard Fairbrass, Rob Manzoli, Philip Lawrence, Ari Levine, Bruno Mars írta, a producer pedig az utóbbi három, The Smeezingtons művésznevén. A dal 2009. augusztus 30-án jelent meg az album vezető kislemezeként. Zeneileg a „Get Sexy” egy lendületes elektropop dal a dance, a techno és az R&B hatásával. A dal a Right Said Fred I'm Too Sexy című dalának interpolációját tartalmazza. Ez az utolsó kislemez, amelyen a csoport harmadik felállása szerepel, Keisha Buchanan alapító tag 2009 szeptemberi távozása előtt.
A "Get Sexy" vegyes kritikákat kapott a kortárs zenekritikusoktól; egyes kritikusok az eredetiség hiányát, mások a produkciót és a szövegeket dicsérték. A dal a második helyet érte el a brit kislemezlistán és a harmadik helyet az ír kislemezlistán. WEAR MY KISS A Sugababes brit lányegyüttes dala, amely harmadik, egyben utolsó kislemezként jelent meg hetedik stúdióalbumukról, a Sweet 7-ről (2010). Ez volt a banda utolsó kislemeze a 2011-es feloszlásuk előtt. Fernando Garibay, Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence és The Jackie Boyz írta, a producer pedig Garibay. A dal fejlesztése akkor kezdődött, amikor a Sugababes 2009 áprilisában az Egyesült Államokba utazott, ahol különböző nagy horderejű producerekkel működtek együtt. A dalt Keisha Buchanan 2009 szeptemberi távozását követően újra rögzítették Jade Ewen énekével. A „Wear My Kiss” egy pörgős dance-pop dal, amely azokra a tételekre hivatkozik, amelyek egy férfi öltözékét alkotják.
